Biography

“Dr. Nacho Balda García grew up in the northwest of Madrid, in Pozuelo de Alarcón. As his grandfather and father were dentists, he has been attracted to dentistry since he was a child. At the age of 16 he spent two summers in a family on the East Coast from the US perfecting his English.

He studied Dentistry at the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM). During his university years he collaborated with the NGO Dentists Without Borders and traveled to Nicaragua to help set up and collaborate in clinics for the treatment of disadvantaged and poor people.

At the same time, he completed his dental studies in Sheffield (United Kingdom) with an Erasmus scholarship where he collaborated closely in the surgery service. After graduating, he began working in the family clinic, where he learned, from his father, Dr. Ignacio Balda Medrano, his honesty and his love for the profession. After a year of professional practice, he began his postgraduate training by taking the three-year Master of Periodontology and Implants at UCM (1998-2001) led by Professor Mariano Sanz and a PhD at the same university. Studying his third year of Master he began to practice as a dentist at the prestigious Perio Clinic in Madrid specialized in Periodontology and Implants; There, by the hand of Drs. Alández, Carasol and Herrera, he perfected his skills and trained in the most avant-garde techniques of the specialty. After five years of
professional practice he began to collaborate as a teacher at the European University of Madrid.

The doctor is a Specialist Titular partner of SEPA (www.sepa.es) and of the European Federation of Periodontology E.F.P.
